I've been very interested in making baby shoes. I find them so little and sweet, especially now that my own children have developed seemingly giant feet. This Spring, my daughter (age 9) started buying her shoes in the women's section of the shoe store. I was a bit shocked about this, but I must say that she now has so many more options. We have a decent shoe store in our community, but the kids' shoes seem very juvenile in style. My daughter is looking forward to having the two of us buy the same shoes so we can match.
This shoe has an outer made of linen with a 100% cotton lining. Pattern inspiration comes from I Think Sew. This woman has some really neat patterns. Check out these Women's Room Shoes! I think I may try making a pattern like this using measurements from a wonderful German slipper I bought last winter. I must say that these are the very best slippers I have ever owned. But, just imagine them in linen for summer!
